Rep. McGovern has put forth a bill that would stop all funding for the war in Iraq, except to fund the withdrawal of U.S. troops. It does allow for continued funding for reconstruction, the presence of N.A.T.O. troops and the Iraqi government's effort to stabilize their state.

Rep. McGovern has put forth a bill that would stop all funding for the war in Iraq, except for the withdrawal of U.S. troops.  It allows for continued funding for reconstruction, the presence of N.A.T.O. troops and the Iraqi government's effort to stabilize their state.
I am writing to request that you co-sponsor the McGovern 'End the War in Iraq Act of 2005' which would force the withdrawal of US troops.  As you know over 270 billion of public funds have been wasted on this boondoogle war at the expense of critical domestic needs - like our crumbling national infrastructure and levees to name a few.
Most of that money has been spent on US troops in Iraq.  Let's stop throwing good money after bad and concentrate on reconstruction, helping to stabilizing the Iraqi government and and supporting NATO - which has a legitimacy we as an occupying force will never have.
It is high time we turn over the control of Iraq to Iraqis and the international community.
